Shanghai Tower, located in China, ranks as the second tallest building in the world with an architectural height of 632 metres. It is the highest building to the usable floor as the top floor is at 587.4 metres. The building has the world’s fastest elevators which run at the speed of 20m/s. The tower also shows the commitment of China towards eco-friendliness. The construction is such that it is regarded as “The Greenest Super High-Rise Building on Earth”.

3. Abraj Al-Bait Clock Tower

Also known as The Makkah Royal Clock Tower, Abraj Al-Bait comes to the third tallest building in the world. Located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, it bags the title of tallest clock tower in the world. It also owns the records like “The Largest Building by Floor Area”, “Largest Clock Face” and it is also known to have constructed in record time. An architectural masterpiece, the tower is bejewelled with over 98 million glass mosaic tiles with 24-carat gold leaves. The tower also has the world’s highest observatory deck.

4. Ping An Finance Center

The fourth tallest building of the world is owned by Ping An Insurance Company which uses most floors of the building as its offices. The height of the building is 599 metres which is second tallest in China. The building also consists of hotels, retail spaces and an observatory which 562 m above the ground.

5. Lotte World Tower

Situated in Seoul, this skyscraper stands at the height of 555 metres, becoming the tallest building of the country and fifth tallest in the world. The tower has 123 floors above the ground which are used for offices, hotel, retail and observation. The highest floor observatory is 497 metres above the ground which has a glass flooring, making it the world’s highest Glass Bottomed Observation Deck. The elevator services of the building have reported to whisk visitors from ground floor to the observatory deck within one minute.

6. One World Trade Center

Situated in Manhattan, New York, this tower was also known as freedom tower due to its height 1776 ft which directly references the year when United States declared Independence. The observation deck of the tower was constructed in the memory of Twin Towers as it begins at 1,362 ft and a glass parapet extends to 1,368 ft which are exact heights of South and North Towers. The design of the tower is such that it is considered as the safest building of the world.

7. Guangzhou CTF Finance Center and Tianjin CTF Finance Center

These two towers located in Guangzhou and Tianjin cities of China, respectively, share the seventh position on the list of world’s tallest buildings. Both the towers have a height of 1,739 ft. The tower at Tianjin was completed in 2018 whereas tower in Guangzhou was completed in 2016. These towers are used for a number of things such as shopping malls, offices, etc.

8. China Zun

The construction completed in 2018.This tower bagged the eight position soon after its completion. Situated in Beijing, the tower stands at a height of 1,731 ft. The tower has 108 floors which are intended to act as the hub of the Central Business District of Beijing.

9. Taipei 101

Located in Taiwan, this skyscraper stands at a total height of 1,667 ft, with 101 floors as the name suggests. Built in 2004, the tower is a masterpiece architecture of postmodern era. It was the tallest building of the world and was surpassed by Burj Khalifa after 6 years of its construction.

10. Shanghai World Financial Center

This tower holds the tenth position in the list of tallest buildings in the world with a total height of 1,614 ft and 101 floors. The building acts as an international financial and trade center. Apart from that, it is also home to hotel, shopping malls, observation decks, offices, etc. The tower holds the second position in the city’s tallest buildings after Shanghai Tower.
