The Cyrus family is well-known in the entertainment industry. While many are familiar with Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus’ children Trace, Brandi, Miley, Noah, and Braison, there is one lesser-known member of the family: Christopher Cody.
Cody has managed to remain relatively out of the public eye due to his different last names and the fact that he has not been as prominent in the entertainment industry as his siblings. Some fans may not have heard of him or seen him in the media.
Who is Christopher Cody Cyrus?
Cody is the son of Billy Ray Cyrus and half-brother of Miley. He was born as a result of a brief fling that Billy Ray had shortly before he got Tish Cyrus pregnant with Miley.
Cody is only seven months older than Miley, which suggests that there may have been some overlap between Billy Ray’s relationship with Cody’s mother and his relationship with Tish.
Billy Ray had divorced his first wife in 1991, Cindy Cyrus when he had a brief relationship with Cody’s mother.
Christopher Cody, the oldest son of Billy Ray Cyrus, was born on April 8, 1992. His mother, Kristen Luckey, met Billy Ray while working as a waitress in a South Carolina restaurant and they had a brief relationship.
By the time Cody was born, Billy Ray had moved on and was expecting a child with Tish Cyrus, Miley’s mother. Cody and his mother have largely avoided the media and have lived a relatively private life.
In the past, Christopher Cody has spoken to the media about his relationship with his father, Billy Ray Cyrus. In an interview with the Mirror in 2009, he shared that he was working at a store for $7.50 an hour and that he would take any additional hours that were available to him.
He also mentioned that he would sometimes wait weeks for his father to check in on him and that he had only seen his half-sister, Miley, a few times in the past decade.
Despite this, Cody expressed love and admiration for Miley and recalled attending one of her concerts near his home in Fort Worth, Texas. He described her voice as “fantastic” and said he was proud of her.

Christopher Cody’s Relationship With His Father
He also shared a text conversation with his father in which he wished him a Merry Christmas, but did not receive a response until ten days later when Billy Ray inquired about his whereabouts.
Despite being born in the same year, Cody and Miley have had very different experiences and opportunities. When Miley turned 16, she was given a recording studio as a gift, while Cody did not even receive a phone call from his father on his birthday.
These differences in lifestyle and treatment have likely contributed to the distance between Cody and the rest of the family.
According to Christopher Cody’s mother, Kristin, there was a period when her son’s father, Billy Ray, stopped reaching out to him.
Kristin expressed disappointment in Billy Ray’s lack of involvement in their son’s life, stating “Chris reaches out to have a relationship, but it’s been months since they engaged. Chris is a great kid, and he handles it very, very well.”
Kristin also shared some shocking details about the circumstances surrounding her discovery that Billy Ray had impregnated another woman, Tish, while she was pregnant with Christopher.
She revealed, “I found out about Tish being pregnant with Miley in a very unexpected way. Billy Ray announced it on TV, saying that he had a beautiful baby boy and another baby on the way. My reaction was total shock and disbelief.”
Christopher Cody’s mother, Kristin, has expressed frustration over the lack of communication between her son and his father, Billy Ray. According to Kristin, Cody has been attempting to maintain a relationship with his father but has not received a response in months.
Kristin told the Mirror that after learning about Tish’s pregnancy through a TV announcement, she and Billy Ray stopped communicating with each other. She also shared that Billy Ray has failed to establish a father-son relationship with Cody, despite providing financial support.
Cody expressed his desire for a closer relationship with his father, stating “I’m on good terms but I don’t have a relationship with them.”
