Made in China is a movie made by Mikhil Musale, a filmmaker who had bagged National-Award for his previous movies. The movie stars Rajkumar Rao, Boman Irani and Mouni Roy. The movie was released on 25th October and shortly after it was leaked by one of the leading websites for pirated movies called Tamil Rockers.
As movie release on Diwali is a big deal in not just Bollywood but also in the movie industries of other languages, piracy brings in a lot of profit to such websites. As in this year’s case, Made in China isn’t the only one that fell in the hands of piracy. A Telugu movie called Bigil, starring Vijay was also leaked just few hours before the release of the movie.
Sites like Tamilrockers usually promise to provide high quality content while leaking the movie. This leads to them grabbing attention of the viewers who are skeptical about watching the particular movie in the theatres. This is the case not only with movies, even the TV series come under the radar of piracy.
Diwali was a busy weekend for the film industry, as apart from Made in China, Akshay Kumar starrer Houseful 4 and Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar’s Saand ki Aankh also hit the theatres the weekend. It was expected that Houseful 4 will lead the box office following Saand ki Aankh and Made in China.
The movie opened with below average reviews from the critics. The movie was reviewed as lightly humorous during the first few minutes, but soon after everything goes bland. Such reviews are highly shocking as it stars Rajkumar Rao who has the capability to make anything better. Boman Irani has also performed well in few remarkable scenes of the movie but the movie failed to deliver overall.
